Although I have only lived in Greenbrier a short time, I sense a recurring theme. I received a letter from a homeowner today; an excerpt is below. Because this letter was left in my mailbox anonymously, I am omitting the detailed description of a specific problem that could potentially identify this homeowner to blog viewers.
“I am almost surprised that it took the residents of this park so long to finally realize the lackadaisical way the park has been managed for quite some time.
“Does anyone remember when we had for real onsite managers? I can only recall her name, it was Sandy! She and her husband made a great team around here. There was no on-street parking. Property was well respected and maintained. Improvements to our common areas were done efficiently. There were simply too many positives to be mentioned.
“But, as the story goes…A few outspoken whiners in the park didn’t want to follow park rules. They wanted to park in guest parking, they wanted to park on the street. They wanted, they wanted…! They had lived here for some time and Joel never…! Well, as sweet as Joel was, he was the King of Lackadaisical!!! And, we all know what happens to the squeaky wheel. We lost excellent, hard working and very efficient managers.
“Now, even though it is probably those same people sooo unhappy once again, I hope, this time, something constructive can come out of our complaints…
“…Things have changed here so much, personally, I just come up my street, pull in my drive and go inside. I believe we pay very high space rent for a whole lot of nothin’!
“Good luck with the battle that lies ahead. The owners could care less what happens here!”
Yes, we could use some good luck. But this effort will take much more than just luck. We must all do our part; collectively the HOA has a very powerful voice. Please send your comments to ggmhoa@gmail.com or drop them off at #9.
